Kindness
Tara had a son ten years older than Amanda who was
leaving the military to help with his dad.
Tara said. “Darren loves us, but he really doesn’t owe us anything. We neglected him while we got our careers started. He made his own way. Darren joined the Air Force and put himself through school.”

“Then why do you think he’s coming home?” I asked.
She smiled. “If I wasn’t there for the birth I
wouldn’t believe he was my kid. He’s a
kind soul. I’m grateful for him. When the world seems unfair and unkind, I
think about my son, and it balances things out.”
Today I
will be grateful for kind people.
